How to install LED lights on 48 volt golf cart?

Installing a light bar on a 48v golf cart:

Choose your mounting location: There are a variety of mounting locations to choose from depending on your type of golf cart.
Test your Light Bar or Pods: Before installing anything, test that the light bar is working by connecting to a battery, red to positive, black to negative. Connect the light to the wiring harness and test the functions. If you purchased an Extreme harness, the connection on the harness should match your light. If it does not, you may have purchased the wrong harness.
Gather the necessary tools: Depending on where you are mounting your light bar, you may need more intricate tools. Make sure you have all of the tools you need before you start the install.
Drill holes (if necessary): Deopending on your golf cart type and mouting location, some installs require holes to be drilled prior to installing the mounts.
Mount and Wire Light Bar: Mount the light bar in the desired location (this may be easier to do before or after wiring depending on where you are installing). Run the connection to the light. If installing switches, run the switches to the desired location. Connect the wiring harness to the battery and you are done!

Without a relay, if the bar is too powerful for the switch to handle, you could end up overheating the switch, melting the wires, and reducing the current that is getting to your lights, making them not as bright. Extreme LED has wiring harnesses with the relay included to protect your LED light bar investment.
